Inspired by the opulence and over the top ornamentation in the art, architecture and fashion of the late 1500's to 1700's the Republic of Toma is all about drama.
Getting dressed each day should be an art form – street theater as if every day life is a grand exhibition. Rubies, Kunzanite, White Quartz and Topaz combine with Citrine, Sapphires, Turquoise and Tourmaline to make a fashion statement. The designs have a sophisticated touch yet are overly embellished with details. Sensuous and always feminine, jewelry designer Toma Clark Haines is inspired by Rubens' and Caravaggio’s expressive force of emotions. The Baroque style is about curves and movement, light that dances over the stones, and asymmetrical designs that nod towards the aristocracy. With an emphasis on bright colors the gemstones are set in 18K yellow gold vermeil and black rhodium.
