Returning home after the last couple of weeks on the road in France and Italy for work with @theantiquesdiva made everything I’ve experienced feel like a dream. Faded memories. Our team retreat was epic… imagine the reunion after 1 1/2 years of not being together due to covid… such joy - it was like the last year and half hadn’t really happened, covid a long forgotten nightmare - and then coming home to Venice afterwards - I felt… alone. I missed my team. I missed my family. I missed my friends.

From such elation to the crash. We often talk about elation. We don’t often talk about the crash. My friend and colleague Margaret who worked at #marthastewart said brides often feel it. After all their energy goes into planning the wedding they are exhausted when the day is done. And they realize months (or years) of work preparing are now over and there is that moment of emptiness. But just as the bride is closing one chapter - she says good bye to her singlehood to embrace married life- so too am I. In a way I’m closing the door to the past to open a door to the future.
