New Years Rituals
New Years Rituals. The last two days I’ve been in Post New Years Mode.
Writing my resolutions.
Creating a vision board.
Determining my priorities.
I am still working my through deciding on my word of the year.
I came up with many words. Write. Create. Vision. Clarity. Focus. Finish. Happy. Satisfied. Joy. Connect. Be. Receive.
Nothing resonated with me fully as being “the word”.
So Finally I did what I always do when I can’t see a solution. I broke the problem in to smaller bite size chunks.
On a sheet of paper - I drew 4 squares. Q1. Q2. Q3. Q4 and asked myself if I could make mini themes for each quarter.
Q1 was clear.
So then I listed what I wanted out of Q2. Again it was clear.
Q3 and 4 were too uncertain- but I had some ideas.
The type of ideas you write in pencil.
I need to see how 2021 unfolds before putting them in ink.
So I made a date with myself for my Half New Years Eve for July 1 to finish the quadrants If the words do not come to me before then.
In these times we have to create solutions that works for us.
Maybe how we’ve always done it... isn’t what works now. In a normal year I create check in points. - how am I doing, am I still on track, are my goals the same? The act of rituals brings clarity, understanding.
