Family comes in many forms. Some is by blood. Some is by choice. I’m in Corsica and I am with family. I am not alone. With Covid I don’t know when I’ll be able to cross the globe and be with blood family again. I don’t get homesick often but not knowing when I will be able to travel to Oklahoma to see my family again scares me. Even writing those words tears spring to my eyes. I’m afraid. I’ve struggled a lot this year during Covid with being alone. I’ve fought it. Resisted it. Chased a solution. Accepted it. And now I’ve come home to a country I’ve never been. Jean Pierre and Danielle are family. They found me. They adopted me. He my operations manager and she my head Diva Guide in Paris. My ex husband didn’t want to have kids. So instead of having a child I birthed a company. The members of this company became my Family. Family supports you. They bring you back to your values and help you make good decisions. They are someone you can depend on, someone you learn from, laugh with and share the challenges and rewards of life with. Family loves you - in spite of your shortcomings. When they invited me to join them this summer at their summer house in Corsica I was elated. It wasn’t a vacation- it was coming home to a country I’ve never been.
