6.30am I wake and pad to the kitchen for coffee. We will share our process as we work through our blocks, break habits and overcome fears to find our most authentic creative selves. Over the years I adapted both to my own way of living but for the program I’m going back to the basics. Morning Pages are to be written long handed strictly stream of consciousness in the first 40 minutes after you wake. Jung says in those first 40 minutes your ego has yet to put of defenses. Pour out your thoughts your fears your doubts on the page and throw them away. When you do a morning dump- you get all the clutter out of your head - so you can get beyond yourself and become more creative. #JuliaCameron - the famed creator of the program says “it’s the petty stuff inside your head that stands between you and your creativity.” My sister @marvelousmissyhancockalways reminds me “You were born to create.”
You may be thinking this program is not for you. You may be thinking you’re not creative. #Creativity is a #SpiritualPractice. We are all creative. I use to joke to my ex husband who worked in finance that he was a powerpoint genius. The things he did with excel flow charts was legendary. He didn’t think he was creative. He was a numbers guy. Remember your creativity doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. You do you. You were born perfectly made and this program helps you find your way back to you.
