I Hate Carnevale

Confession: I hate Carnevale. But when @jetsetterderrick said he was coming to town and bringing @il_eoj and @themanjacoby I agreed to put aside my distaste for Carnival and celebrate. And confession #2…. I am having fun. When Josephine and Bruce also decided to join, it became a party. I knew my only solution was to take as much of possible of the week off work and celebrate. The last month has been full, on so it’s a needed break. The problem with carnival is I hate crowds. And I hate drunken tourists. This weekend I was part of the crowd as a drunken tourist wearing a mask. (I’m working on creating a reel… but I like this photo too much not to share first.) It may be Carnevale attire, but I’ve got Klass… you know, class spelled with K. 😂😂 Rather than wearing the mask in the classic way I chose to wear mine like a Native American headdress. A crown of feathers with face paint underneath. I found myself singing Tim McGraw and Indian Outlaw as I walked to the party. When he arrived casa mia Derrick picked up my Oklahoma’s crewel knit pillow from the corner of my couch. When visiting an apartment in Venice, you don’t expect an Oklahoma pillow. It’s the merger of my 2 worlds. Oklahoman Proud and Venetian By Choice. So as I walk through the crowd, I sing, “I’m an Indian Outlaw, half Cherokee and Choctaw. My baby she’s a Chippawaw, she’s one of a kind.”
